Three principles of great web design

Three principles of great web design

Every website is different. But almost all of the great ones share a few core design elements:

1) The navigation is streamlined and intuitive. All information is easy to find. Visitors don’t tear their hair out trying to find a phone number or an archived document.

2) They engage the user, whether it’s through animation, calls to action, or simply providing a valuable service.

3) They are clean and aesthetically pleasing. In fact, the more complex the site, the simpler the design should be. Look at the elegant simplicity of Google.com, the most popular — and advanced — website on the planet.

Trends will ebb and flow. But using these time-tested principles to guide web design will ensure a quality, powerful product.
