Keep Google happy; optimize your website for mobile

Mobile devices — mainly phone and tablets — now account for well over half of all web traffic. (That’s why all websites that we develop here at Keybridge are designed to look great on both mobile and desktop displays.)

But now there’s another critical reason to make your website mobile-friendly. Google recently changed its algorithm so that sites that aren’t mobile-friendly are punished. In other words, they are moved down in the search results. Meanwhile, mobile-friendly sites are rewarded by being displayed at the top of Google’s search results.

If you want to check to see if your site is mobile-friendly, Google has provided this easy tool. Just enter your site address, and click “Analyze”. If you see a green “Awesome!, This page is mobile-friendly” message, then congratulations — your site is mobile-friendly, and you have made Google happy.

If your site fails the Google mobile-friendly test, fear not — updating a site to mobile friendly is very straightforward — and we’re happy to help. Feel free to drop us a line or give us a call — ask for Mike.
